The chakras are our main energy centers, that exist whether you believe it or not, and work like electrical power stations. We are electrical beings after all, and in fact far more electrical and light body than we are chemical. We are living in an amazing time period because this awareness brings powerful possibilities for healing and rejuvenation of our mind, body, and spirit. This also means that anything we put in and on our bodies has an effect on our body's frequency. So, in this article we talk about the basics and get a glimpse into the foods, crystals, and oils that can help bring balance to the base chakra.
Located at the base of the spine, by the tailbone/coccyx, the root chakra is our 1st base chakra. It is one of our main energy centers, as the bottom 2 energy stations feed the other chakras.
When you think about it, if we're feeling anxious, insecure, unsure about our future or finances, do we feel like doing much or have an ability to focus on much else? It's hard to think about our spiritual health if our basic needs aren't met.
To be fully present and secure in our body, this chakra needs to be flowing and functioning properly. This chakra is our base because it is the one most connected with Mother Earth; it helps us to ground, stabilize, and feel a deep sense of inner strength and confidence. This is also the chakra of music, dancing, jumping, singing, drumming, and all the primitive urges we have to let loose.

Crystals you can use to balance this chakra are:
Bloodstone, Garnet, Red Agate, Red Aventurine, Red Jasper, Red Tiger's Eye, Ruby
Because essential oils contain so many incredible chemical constituents, most, if not all, can be used for multiple applications and even span to balance multiple chakras. Here are some of my favorites to balance the Root Chakra.
Suggested Essential Oils & Uses:
Like oils, where our food comes from in nature (where it grows, which part of the plant it comes from, the growing conditions, etc.) will have an effect on us. Whether it comes from a light, airy food like a fresh citrus fruit that makes us feel light and full of energy, or one that comes from under the ground, which has earthing and grounding effects on the body, there are certain foods that help to balance each of the chakras.
Here are a few for the root chakra:
Root vegetables like carrots, potatoes, parsnips, radishes, beets, onions, garlic, protein rich foods, and all kinds of RED fruit and vegetables
