Heart Chakra: I Love

Transforming Your Chakras

· Essential Oils

"I give and receive love unconditionally and effortlessly."

The heart chakra, Anahata in sanskrit, located at your heart space in the center of your chest, is the chakra that represents love, compassion, empathy, and connection to others. It is represented by the color green, with a twelve petal lotus.

Mantra: "I Love"

Element: Air

Body Parts: lungs, heart, pericardium, arms, hands, circulatory system

When this chakra is imbalanced (either overactive or underactive/blocked), you may have physical symptoms such as disorders of the heart, lungs, breasts, or arms. Circulation issues, shortness of breath, and conditions like asthma may occur.

When it comes to how we feel when this chakra is out of alignment, we often will feel disconnection from others, we will overanalyze our way through life without trust in our higher guidance and feelings, we may feel judgement, unforgiveness, jealousy, codependency, and have poor boundaries.

Wouldn't we all rather feel compassionate, understanding, empathetic, and love towards ourselves and others?

Here's some tips on how to achieve balance in your heart center.

Crystals to bring balance and harmony to this chakra:

Heart chakra crystals are generally green or pink, although there are other types of gemstones that also help heal the heart chakra. When it comes to healing crystals, just trust your instincts and don't overthink it.

Some to choose from are Rose Quartz, Aventurine, Kunzite, Amazonite, Peridot, and Aquamarine

Essential Oils & Uses Suggestions:

  • Lime: put 3-4 drops in your diffuser for a clean, fresh scent. This oils brings zest to life and uplifts the mood. I also like to drink a drop of this in my water for cleansing
  • Rose: as a powerful oil for the heart, I love to apply this oil over my chest and on my palms to deeply inhale its calming and heart opening properties
  • Peppermint: the oil of a buoyant heart, this oil brings me out of that afternoon slump and gives me a pick-me-up in the morning. Put a drop in your palms and deeply inhale, then apply the remaining oil to the back of the neck for invigorating and cooling effects

Food:

As to be expected with the green theme of this chakra, GREEN foods are great for balancing this chakra.

Examples of foods to nourish our bodies and our heart center are kale, broccoli, spinach, green smoothies, parsley, celery, cucumber, zucchini, avocado, lime, mint, peas, kiwi, peas, spirulina, matcha, green tea, and green apples.

Other ways to balance this chakra:

  • go on a nature walk, enjoy the green surroundings
  • make a romantic date with your significant other (or with yourself!)
  • garden & fill your home with plants
  • practice heart opening yoga poses, such as camel, baby back bend, and anything that expands the chest
  • meditate with your hand over your heart, breathing in love, breathing out love

Most importantly, give yourself permission to forgive others and yourself.

Love to all,

Kallie
